Meet our Staff


Kimberly Wood

Executive Director

Kimberly grew up in Wisconsin and completed her undergraduate work at Penn State University, where she obtained a B.A. in Crime, Law, and Justice and a B.A. in Sociology. She completed her graduate work at California University of PA and has a M.S. in Legal Studies. Prior to working at Able-Services, Kim ran a licensed residential program for homeless and dependent youth in State College, PA. She has worked with Able-Services since it began in 2014 and loves the participants and staff she works with every day. She lives in York with her husband and two little girls.

Martin B. Krebs

Program Specialist

Marty is a York, PA native and has lived here his entire life. He worked in advertising and marketing for 30 years as a graphic designer, then began a second career in human services and never looked back. He has been married for 36 years, has three grown sons (one married) and a delightful granddaughter. Marty still does freelance work as a graphic design consultant, sings with the York Symphony Chorus, and enjoys creating healthy gourmet meals in the kitchen. About Able-Services, he says: “I love working here because we aspire to live our mission statement every day – enriching the lives of individuals and their families. That might look different for each person in our program, but it is possible every single day.”


Sarah Kerr

Program Specialist

Sarah received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Crime, Law, & Justice from Penn State University. Prior to being employed with Able-Services, Sarah worked as a Supports Coordinator with the County of Chester Mental Health/Intellectual Disability Department. She was also a Case Supervisor for the Youth Service Bureau at a Chapter 3800 licensed Group Home for homeless and dependent/delinquent teens. She also worked as a Direct Service Professional with individuals with disabilities for Strawberry Fields. She volunteered for CASA of Lancaster County and is a certified yoga instructor and teaches at yoga studios in York and Lancaster. She enjoys archery and competed on the Penn State Archery Club during college and participates in archery leagues. She also likes to run and has run three half marathons and one full marathon. Sarah decided to work for Able-Services because she believes her heart and talents will create more of an impact when working directly with individuals with special needs. Her favorite part of her job is meeting so many unique individuals and witnessing their growth.

Mia Jimenez

Activities Coordinator

Mia completed her high school education at Spring Grove Area High School and also attended Baltimore School of Massage for Massage Therapy and Lancaster School of Cosmetology for Nail Technician. Prior to working a Able-Services, Mia worked for Bell Socialization for 3.5 years as a Residential Worker in homes with adults with special needs. She lives in Dallastown with her husband and two sons. She attends Genesis Church and loves reading, knitting, crafting, and taking long shopping trips at Target. Mia loves working at Able-Services because of the amazing participants and staff here. As a mom of children with special needs, she has learned a lot from her job that helps her to have patience, compassion, fun, and joy while raising her boys and she has learned a lot from her boys that has assisted her in her work at Able-Services.

Krista Dougherty

Direct Support Professional II

Krista grew up in York County and graduated from Northeastern High School. Before coming to Able-Services, Krista was employed with Penn-Mar Human Services and worked in a residential program for over 2 years with individuals with special needs. Krista is passionate about working with this population and loves planning activities and helping them to learn to skills and have new experiences. When she isn't working, you will find Krista spending time with her husband and extended family.

Amanda Gambrell

Direct Support Professional

Amanda comes to Able-Services after working for many years in residential programs for individuals with special needs. She attended William Penn Senior High and has an Associates Degree in Business Management from Harrisburg Area Community College. Amanda has 3 full siblings, 3 half-siblings, and helps to care for her mother, who she is extremely close with. She lives with 2 dogs, 2 turtles, and a leopard gecko, all rescue animals. When she isn't working, Amanda likes to spend time with friends and family, paint rocks, fish, swim, or do anything involving the water. Amanda loves working in this field and recently survived a pretty severe accident and believes she was saved to make a difference.

Alisha Hawkins

Direct Support Professional

Alisha is a York native who graduated from Crispus Attucks Charter School, attended the TLC Institute of York to achieve a CNA certificate and trained as a medical assistant at Brightwood Institute of Harrisburg. Alisha has 4 siblings and has a daughter she loves spending time with. Prior to working at Able-Services, Alisha worked with individuals with special needs at True North. When she is not working, Alisha enjoys spending time with family, reading, and watching movies. She is excited to work at Able-Services and help the participants become the best version of themselves.


Amber Herrmann

Direct Support Professional

Amber lives in Red Lion with her boyfriend, son, and their 3 cats and 1 dog. She is currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a Human Services concentration from Colorado Technical University. Her ultimate career goal is to obtain a Master's in Social Work and earn her license in Clinical Counseling or Social Work. She has dreams of moving to Delaware and also spending some time living abroad in Europe. Prior to working for Able-Services, Amber held various jobs, including installing floors and working as a custodian for Dentsply. Amber loves music, the color purple, llamas, elephants, the beach, the mountains, and laid back country living.


Bobbie Jo Daley

Direct Support Professional

Bobbie is a long-time resident of York County and completed her high school education at York Vo Tech. Prior to working at Able-Services, Bobbie worked for Lifetouch as a School Photographer. Bobbie has a son and a daughter and has experience navigating the MH/IDD system with her son. Bobbie joined the Able-Services team in 2015 and brings a great deal of knowledge and passion for the work we do.


Christopher Bridger

Direct Support Professional

Chris joined the Able-Services team in 2017. Prior to being employed with Able-Services, Christopher worked as a Direct Care Staff member for Suncom Industries and also worked for 2 years as a Home Health Aide. He is passionate about providing opportunities to our individuals and brings a great deal of experience to our program.

Kathy Weyant

Direct Support Professional

Kathy obtained her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Valencia Community College and obtained her Associates of Science Degree from Penn State Berks. Prior to working at Able-Services, Kathy worked as a Personal Care Associate for Keystone Human Services where she provided residential care and support to individuals in a mental heath residential home. Kathy also worked for the York/Adams County Department of Aging. In addition, she worked as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and Rehabilitation Aide for over 10 years. Kathy also volunteered with an individual for 8 years who had an acquired brain injury. In her spare time, Kathy enjoys traveling in her RV, volunteering, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Katreena Schmidt

Direct Support Professional

Katie comes from a large family and has a brother, sister, and lots of step-siblings. After high school she went to college for baking and pastry and still loves to bake. Prior to coming to Able-Services, Katie worked with individuals with special needs in residential settings. When she isn't working, Katie enjoys the outdoors and spending time with friends. She is excited to get to know everyone, make memories, and have fun!


Lauren Bell

Direct Support Professional

Lauren grew up in Greenville and is the youngest of four. She has two sisters and a brother who has Angelmans Syndrome. Growing up with a brother with special needs led her to a career in this field. She graduated from Slippery Rock University with a B.S. in Recreational Therapy and minors in Adaptive Physical Activity and Adventure Fitness.

Prior to her employment at Able-Services, Lauren worked as an intern with Easterseals and worked at LCBC Church in a development program for young leaders. In addition to working at Able-Services, Lauren also works in a residential program at Jessica & Friends. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys swimming, riding her bike, spending time with friends, and volunteering in the tech booth at her church. Lauren's favorite part about working at Able-Services is the relationships she has built with the individuals and how she has been able to learn who they are and work to make them feel valued.


Marjorie Trona

Direct Support Professional

Marjorie obtained her Associate’s Degree in Specialized Business from Central Penn Business School. Prior and concurrent to her employment with Able-Services, Marjorie worked as a cafeteria and recess aide for the Central York School District for over a decade. She also worked as a substitute Instructional Aide and has some experience working with children with special needs.


Marty Eaton

Direct Support Professional

Marty obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to his employment at Able-Services, Marty worked as both a Youth Advocate and a Therapeutic Support Staff with at-risk youth and their families for PA Comprehensive Behavioral Health. He was also a Scholarship Director for Carson Scholars Fund in Towson, MD. Marty volunteered on York County Juvenile Probation Services Youth Aid Panel. He decided to work for Able-Services based on its reputation as an outstanding program providing services with compassion in a positive environment.


Nicole Wood

Direct Support Professional

Nicole holds an Associates Degree in Business from York Technical Institute and a Bachelors of Science in Human Services from University of Phoenix. Prior to working at Able-Services, Nicole worked for Health South Rehabilitation Hospital. She is active in her church and teaches religious education and is active in the York Academy PTO. Lives in York with her husband, son, dog, and turtle.


Olivia Young

Direct Support Professional

Olivia grew up in York County and has an 18-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter. Prior to working at Able-Services, Olivia was an Instructional Assistant for Central York School District in the Autistic Support Classroom and also worked as an Assistant Site Director for TLC Montessori for 12 years. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys reading and is part of a knitting club. She enjoys working in this field and teaching our participants, as well as learning from them. She says that there may be times where you have some challenges along with way, but with every challenge begins a new day, new adventure, new memories, and a lifetime of endless rewards.


Rebecca Keller

Direct Support Professional

Rebecca graduated from York Vo-Tech and before working at Able-Services, she worked for Durham School Services. She was responsible for the transportation of students with a variety of disabilities. Rebecca lives with her husband, son, and dog Neo in Manchester. She is also involved with volunteering for the annual Autism Walk to raise awareness. Rebecca loves horses and horseback riding. Rebecca decided to work for Able-Services/Leg Up Farm because of the love and support the company has shown her family and friends who have needed services over the years. She loves being part of a team that is supportive and caring.


Shelly All

Direct Support Professional

Shelly has a B.S. in Psychology from Argosy University and she is currently a graduate student working toward her Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Shelly loves spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She enjoys riding motorcycles and is passionate about volunteering with and helping our local veterans whenever she can.


Tai Beck

Direct Support Professional

Tai lives in Manchester with her aunt, uncle, cousin and 2 dogs. She is a graduate of Red Lion High School and is currently pursuing a degree in Human Services from HACC. Tai grew up with family members that have special needs and she wanted to join this field to be able to help her community.

Michael Hoke

Greenhouse Manager

Michael was born in York and went to York Suburban High School. He obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Delaware Valley College. Prior to working at Able-Services, Michael worked as a floral buyer for Stauffers of Kissel Hill and he also has his Realtor's license. Michael has 5 siblings and 4 step-siblings and in his free time he likes to work in the garden, bike, hike, travel to his cabin, read, and spend time with family and friends. He is passionate about the time he spends working with our participants in the greenhouse and is always looking for new experiences to share with them.


Patti Owens

Greenhouse Assistant

Patti received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University. For the 21 years prior to her employment with Able-Services, Patti worked as an Occupational Therapist for Senior Life, Masonic Village, Wellspan Health System, Memorial Hospital, and the Visiting Nurse Association of York County. Patti is also a Master Gardener who was employed as a landscape gardener with Masonic Village for 2 years and was a volunteer with Leg Up Farm.
